The Whashton Parish Meeting Committee hopes that you are enjoying the beautiful colours of autumn and can take the time to read this latest Newsletter, which contains important information Please can you email me so I have up to date addresses and contact numbers, so I can keep you informed of anything important, and save paper as much as possible. 100 Club - renewal of subscriptions due by December 31, 2022, for next year and first draw on 4th January 2023.Please pay by BACS (Whashton Parish Meeting 20 25 29, 10141038) or cash and let John and me know by email. We will assume you will keep the number already allocated but refer to last minutes for numbers still available. £20 per ball as last year. Prizes as last year: 1st = £25, 2 prizes of £10

5th April 2023 – AGM – election of officers

21 June 2023 – AGAR – finance review for year

4th October 2023 – Finance plan for 2024

All meetings at Ravensworth Village Hall 7pm

Newsletters will be quarterly and sent via email and be on the website and handdelivered in some cases. Please check your SPAM box and ‘allow’ any emails in there from me, so you get all parish correspondence into your in box in future.

Anyone interested in hearing more about ways that you can save money and the planet by ethical choices you can now sign up to a separate newsletter and emails from Lizzie. Biodiversity – Grant update

Jan Hoyland garden designer has helped to get the plants, bulbs and trees for planting to get our scheme ready for the spring. Thank you to all of you that came and helped to plant bulbs on the 3rd and 6th November – fingers crossed for a good spring show. Thanks also to Cath and Jon Gill for their generous donation of plants for ground cover and extra pollination potential.

Thank you to Foxglove Covert for the free woodchip and tree guards for mulching and protecting the new trees – arriving 24thNovember 2022, planting Sunday 27th November tbc.


BONFIRE NIGHT

A fantastic night was had by all – so a big thank you goes to Len and Heather for hosting and for providing the wonderful ‘quiet ‘fireworks and sparklers. I think we judged the food just right and we were blessed with a dry evening. Thank you to the Turnbull family for the generous donation of potatoes and to Richie for acquiring the compostable plates and cutlery


Carols by Candlelight on the Green - Mince pies and mulled wine, hot Ribena.

Sunday 18th December 5pm.

Carol words will be provided so bring a torch!

Any musicians out there for some accompaniment and to lead singing welcomed.

Let me know if you can make it!! Donations on the night gratefully received.
